Production area: land in the municipality of Poggibonsi (Siena)
Vineyard: various vineyards in the territory of Montemorli, with excellent exposure to the sun.
Vines: Sangiovese 90%, Ciliegiolo 10%.
Density: 5.000 vines per hectare.
Cultivation system: guyot and cordon with grassing and alternating tillage.
Soil: soils of Pliocene. Sedimentary formation composed by yellow sands.
Altitude: 235 m. over the sea level.
Microclimate: sub-mediterranean climate, with quiet cold-rainy winter and dry-medium hot summer.
Wine production for hectare: 70 Hl.
Vinification: Handpicking in the end of september. The fermentation takes place in concrete tanks for 15 days with controlled temperature(22°c).
Long evolution in steel tanks for six months and stay three months in bottles before the selling. Conforti’s Family always gives a long period of maturation to the Sangiovese; this wine need time for express his own quality.
Colour: bright shades of red.
Fragrance: vinous fragrances, floreal notes with violet and iris.
Taste: good structure, vinous with fresh fruit hints.
